3GOOGLE CHROME HACKS

We know that Google Chrome is a popular Internet browser, but did you know you could do a lot more with it than just surf the web? Here we pick some of the most useful hacks that could help you over the course of your day:

Using it as a timer

You can now use Google as a countdown timer or a stopwatch, just as you would on a smartphone. Here's what you need to do:

Type timer in the Google search and you'll be presented with a simple interface where you can set a countdown timer or trigger a stopwatch. Alternatively you can actually type something like, "Set timer for 5.5 minutes" and it will automatically start a timer for 5 minutes 30 seconds. When the countdown reaches zero, a beep-beep alarm will notify you.

Revealing a forgotten password

Saved passwords in Google Chrome aren't stored in the most secure manner - even though they appear as asterisks, they can be revealed by simple means. Here's how:

Load a website that has your password saved - this will appear as a row of asterisks or dots. Now right-click the page and select "Inspect" or "Inspect element". The box that appears will show the page source code. In this box, search for the first line that mentions type = "password". Replace the word "password" with "text" and hit enter. The instant you do so, the password will appear revealed in your website.

Recalling that song

How many of us find it difficult to find a song or figure out a catchy statement made by our friend? With Google, those days are behind us. Here how you can use it to recall:

Simply type in whatever you remember within quotation marks and replace forgotten words with asterisk sign. Google will come with the best matches from which you can make a selection--one of these is bound to be the match you're looking for.
