As a result of the mishap with the Note 7, the world is waiting to see the next big thing from Samsung and based on the rumors, the Galaxy S8 won’t disappoint. Here are some of the things you should expect, note that these are just rumors.
A 5.7 inch and 6.2 screen variants
Similar to the S7, the S8 might come in two different screen sizes, According to Korea Herald, one of the S8 variants will sport a 5.7-inch 4K (2,160 x 3,840) display, and the other, a 6.2-inch display.
Exynos 8895, Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 or 835
Another report claims that the S8 will have 2 processor variants, Samsung’s Exynos 8895 and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 or 835. My money is on the 835.
An amazing screen-to-body ratio
Just like the way Xiaomi dazzled us with the Mi Mix, the Galaxy S8 might sport a screen-to-body ratio that could be more than 90%, way higher than the S7’s 72.1%
The absence of the Home button.
Thanks to the rumored screen-to-body ratio, a new report has it that Samsung could omit the iconic home button on the S8, and might even relocate the fingerprint scanner underneath the glass of the display itself — not sure how that’s going to work.
A larger RAM because, why not?
We might be in for a treat as TechTastic notes that the S8 will come equipped with a whopping 6 GB of RAM. Older rumors reported that the S8 might have 8 gigabytes of RAM, but my bet is on the former.
Larger Storage.
Along with the increased RAM, we might also be getting an increased storage — a 256 GB version, with lower capacity options ranging from 64GB to 128GB. Although the question now is, would it have an expandable memory like the S7?
A rear dual camera.
Earlier rumors suggest that the S8 could feature a two camera setup with 12-megapixel Samsung and 13-megapixel Sony modules, I’d advise that this should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Auto-Focus comes to the front-facing camera
Samsung might change the game with the front facing camera on the S8 by equipping it with an auto-focus feature. EtNews reports that Samsung has come up with a new type of camera actuator that will make front-facing auto-focus possible while saving precious space.

The Samsung S8 will come equipped with Samsung’s new AI, the Viv. Viv has been hailed as Siri’s most powerful sister and is set to compete with the likes of Google Assistant and Siri.
Harman Stereo Speakers
The S8 might come with Harman Stereo Speakers, a world leading audio system acquired by Samsung and famous for providing solutions for the likes of Porsche, Ferrari, Bentley, to name a few.

A new report suggests that Samsung will follow Apple’s lead and omit the 3.5mm audio jack. This is to incorporate the USB Type-C port and also streamline the design and hardware space.
